Lead the UK campaign for a responsible, fair and sustainable food system
GM Freeze, a UK-based organisation that has been doing great work on GMOs for many years, is recruiting a successor to director Liz O’Neill, who will be leaving at the end of July 2023. GMWatch has agreed to help GM Freeze recruit the right person by publicising their job advertisement.
GM Freeze explains that this is a really special opportunity to lead the UK campaign for a responsible, fair and sustainable food system and join a supportive, flexible team.
The executive director runs both the campaign and the organisation behind it, managing one other staff member and reporting to the voluntary management committee. This is an unusually varied job offering the chance to use and develop your skills in campaigning and advocacy; fundraising and communications; governance and finance. Ongoing political developments are removing key safeguards and increasing the likelihood that GMOs will be produced and marketed in the UK. The work that the new executive director does will make a real difference to protecting our food, our farms and our right to choose.
GM Freeze is looking for experience of delivering campaigns, partnership working and income generation, alongside skills in strategic thinking and communications. It is vital that the new executive director is committed to the aims and objectives of GM Freeze but candidates don’t need to be experts in the field. In return, the organisation offers a high degree of autonomy, flexible remote working and a supportive management committee.
Applications will only be accepted on GM Freeze's application form and must be received by 10am on Monday 10 July.
