The Telegraph is running a poll on whether ash trees should be genetically modified to resist ash die-back disease.
At the time of writing, 41% say they shouldn’t but that leaves a majority in favour of GM ash trees.
Here are some reasons why the gene bashers should leave ash trees well alone – it comes down to the fact that there are less risky solutions.
