On December 12th, Comissao Tecnica Nacional de Biossegurança (a commission similar to the Ministry of Science and Technology) will approve the commercial release of GM corn in Brazil.

If it is allowed to go ahead, GM corn crops could contaminate non-GM crops and cross international borders, leading to GM contamination in neighbouring countries.
