1.Campaign for Real Milk hits the public bar

A FAKE pub was yesterday serving up pints of milk in protest about genetically modified food and drink.
The Cow Major, which was open for just one day in the centre of Cardiff [Wales], was designed by Greenpeace to raise awareness of the fact that most milk sold in Wales comes from cows fed on GM feed.
Wales has delivered a decisive 'no' vote to GM foods, but Greenpeace said GM producers are using a near-invisible outlet for their unwanted product. It claims thousands of tonnes of GM animal feed comes into UK ports each year to feed dairy herds that supply all the major supermarkets.
Emma Gibson, Greenpeace GM campaigner, said, "We're pulling pints of GM-free milk to alert the public to the fact that hundreds of thousands of pints of GM milk are sold in Wales each day.
"The public don't want anything to do with GM foods, but the supermarkets are still sneaking GM into shoppers baskets."
Greenpeace balloted shoppers in Cardiff about whether they want to drink GM milk.
