SICK JOKE OF THE WEEK No. 1:
"The biggest risk to people like Bayer CropScience would be cross contamination the other way - imagine one of their crops has been cross contaminated by pollination and the genetic material put at risk, these companies are not going to expose these significant investments to any contamination"! (see item 1 below)
As for SICK JOKE No. 2, "The AgBioWorld Foundation needs support from its AgBioView readers!" It seems CS Prakash is astroturfing our current appeal!!
However, it's a rather subdued affair compared to previous Prakash efforts which have been much more triumphalist. "We've beaten the sh*t out of several more scientific sceptics and pilloried journals to retract their articles. If you like what we do..." is more what we're used to.
Of course, AgBiasedWorld may be genuinely short of cash but given that our research has exposed the extraordinary level of support they've previously enjoyed from Monsanto's PR operatives, it's a bit hard to credit!
For more on this, see our Pants on Fire Award: CS Prakash - THE GREAT DECEIVER: http://www.gmwatch.org/p2temp2.asp?aid=55&page=1&op=2
Excerpt: "CS Prakash speaks Monsanto's script just as readily as Monsanto's own fake persona. He is the mannequin in Monsanto's virtual shopwindow and
one who seems prepared to go anywhere and say or do almost anything to promote the interests of the US biotech industry."

South Australian Agriculture Minister Rory McEwen says companies conducting genetically modified (GM) crop trials have more to worry about when it comes to cross contamination, than farmers.
The Australian Democrats have likened the GM canola trial sites to a plague of small pox spreading across the state's south-east.
Mr McEwen says there are only 18 small trial sites and they pose no risk to neighbouring farms, in fact it is the neighbouring farms that threaten the trials.
"The biggest risk to people like Bayer CropScience would be cross contamination the other way - imagine one of their crops has been cross contaminated by pollination and the genetic material put at risk, these companies are not going to expose these significant investments to any contamination," he said.

2.The AgBioWorld Foundation needs support from its AgBioView readers!
Currently, we have little funds left at the foundation, which does not come close to covering the expenses towards the AgBioView newsletter and our website http://www.AgBioWorld.org. Because of AgBioWorld's incredible success, the number of people participating in the AgBioView dialog worldwide has increased substantially (nearly 4,000 now). Sending out the newsletter and maintaining the website involves considerable expense.
May I thus urge you to please consider contributing to the Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. You can make a tax-deductible contribution using your credit card on our web site at http://www.agbioworld.org/about/donations.html, or by
sending a check to:
AgBioWorld Foundation
P. O. Box 85
Tuskegee Institute

As it my goal to continue to run AgBioWorld and its daily newsletter AgBioView primarily through contributions from individuals and philanthropic foundations, your support in any amount is greatly appreciated. Your tax-deductible donation will help continue AgBioWorld's success in effectively communicating science-based information about agricultural biotechnology issues around the world and the diverse view points especially to the developing world where this technology is most needed.
I am grateful to you all of you for your help.
Thank you,
C. S. Prakash
