Wivenhoe GM crop pullers [originated: Rowan Tilly] February 2001 Report

Latest developments On 15 February they had a Judicial Review at The High Court in London which they lost.  They will now proceed towards a trial by magistrate for criminal damage.

Trial:  18 June at Harwich Magistrates' Court

Background Eleven local people (Andy Abbott, Ken & Edie Butcher, Andrew Curtis, Dave Isaacson, Julie Moore, Tracy Osben, Lynn & Sarah Priest, Dean Scott and Nikki Shilaker) were arrested and charged with criminal damage after decontaminating Aventis GM fodder maize last July. Their case was assigned to a Magistrate's Court which prompted them to apply for a Judicial Review in an attempt to overturn this decision.
