Love and solidarity with the Greenpeace 28 -- not least all those on this list! -- whose retrial begins at Norwich Crown Court on Monday.

Because of the problems of a high level of cross-posting, ngin will not routinely forward all 'Greenpeace 28 list' bulletins this time around  So for a daily account of proceedings please subscribe to the Greenpeace 28 list

*** 2nd Edition: The Retrial of the Greenpeace 28 ***

Dear friend

28 Greenpeace volunteers will be returning to Norwich Crown Court on Monday to again face charges of criminal damage as a result of the action against GM crops at Lyng in Norfolk last year. You will remember from last April that the 28 defendants were cleared on charges of theft but the jury could  not reach a verdict on criminal damage. The retrial starting on Monday will put the case before a new jury and is estimated to last two weeks.

Last April you were a regular subscriber to the court bulletin which gave a daily account of proceedings at the first trial and we intend to reinstate the service for this second trial. As a result, you will receive a daily bulletin starting from Monday which will give you a brief account of the events in court. You will also be informed of the outcome within minutes of the jury returning a verdict.

Just in case you're a bit rusty on the facts you can visit: http://www.greenpeace.org.uk/trial.htm where you can see a whole host of supporting documentation along with video of the action, pictures of the defendants and even hear audio interviews.

You can e mail messages to the defendants at: mailto:This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we will make sure they receive them during the breaks in court proceedings.

We hope you enjoy your court bulletins and continue to visit the website at: http://www.greenpeace.org.uk for information about all our campaigns
