Jeffrey Smith, author of the books Seeds of Deception and Genetic Roulette, is one of the best communicators on GM food safety - or the lack of it. His trilogy of films on the topic are all worth watching and provide a great introduction to the subject for friends, educators, and decision-makers. This is an interview with Prof. Gilles-Eric Séralini, the leader of the research team from the Committee of Independent Research and Information on Genetic Engineering (CRIIGEN) and the Universities of Caen and Rouen which obtained Monsanto's confidential raw data of its 2002 feeding trials on rats, after a European court made it public in 2005. The data "clearly underlines adverse impacts on kidneys and liver, the dietary detoxifying organs, as well as different levels of damages to heart, adrenal glands, spleen and haematopoietic system," reported Prof. Séralini, a molecular biologist at the University of Caen.
