Forwarded from African Centre for Biosafety:

Dear All

Genetically Modified Potatoes have reached their last regulatory hurdle in South Africa. If they get through this one, South Africa will be the first country in the world to allow GM Potatoes onto the market, having already been rejected in several other countries. The appearance of these novel potatoes on our shelves will affect South African as well as African consumers and farmers. Please read through the petition and sign it! Your signatures will be sent to the SA GMO Registrar as well as Potato SA. Please pass this on to your friends and networks.
