Brazil: MP Décio Lima violates agreement with civil society and intends to put Terminator seeds on the agenda for voting

On World Food Day, during the Commission of Constitution and Justice meeting, representatives of organizations and social movements gave the President of the CCJC, Décio Lima, a document with more than 18,000 signatures from across Brazil and other Countries calling for the withdrawal of a bill that proposes to ease restrictions on the release of suicide/Terminator seeds.

On that occasion, the President pledged to not let Bill 268/2007 be voted on while he was the president of the Commission.

However, MP Décio Lima, under the pressure of GM seed companies, is about to disregard the agreement and have the bill voted on this week, probably on Wednesday Dec 11.

Please urgently sign the petition which will be delivered to the Commission at the meeting on the morning of Wednesday, December 11.

Please note that the text of the petition in English is slightly out of date but this is still the valid petition to sign in response to this new crisis. In the form on the right, the box named "Endereço" is for your address and "Cidade" means "city".

The same petition is here in Portuguese:                                        http://www.change.org/pt-BR/peti%C3%A7%C3%B5es/diga-n%C3%A3o-aos-exterminadores-de-sementes-contra-o-projeto-de-lei-268-2007-no-brasil
