We just want to thank all of you who have supported our fundraising appeal. Some people have donated without giving contact details so we weren't always able to thank them personally. So we'd like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to those people - you know who you are!
We haven't yet reached the target we need for the next 12 months but we are well on our way. And we're absolutely thrilled that in terms of numbers of supporters and geographical spread, more people than ever before have dug into their pockets and they've come from every continent and more countries than ever.
Another clear sign that our appeal has not gone unnoticed in the wider world came last week when a Counter Terrorism Officer from Special Branch (the branch of the police that protects the State from subversion) approached one of our editors (without initially realising he was one of our editors!) to say they'd heard GMWatch was fundraising and there was concern it was for "illegal acts"!
Well, if you do support us, we can't guarantee to spend it on "illegal acts" but we can guarantee that we will use it effectively to support the global campaign of resistance against the imposition of this technology.
