ANSES committed an error regarding precautionary principle in authorising the weedkiller

According to a French language press article, the administrative court of Lyon, France has cancelled the market authorisation of Roundup Pro 360, a Monsanto glyphosate weedkiller.

The court found that the French food and environmental health agency ANSES had "committed an error of assessment with regard to the precautionary principle" in authorising this Roundup formulation on 6 March 2017.

The lawsuit arguing for the withdrawal of the Roundup formulation, which was used especially on vegetable and fruit crops, was brought by the Independent Research and Information Committee on Genetic Engineering (CRIIGEN) in May 2017.
