This protest described in the article below helps to highlight that the likes of Blair, Brown, Bush and (for that matter) Bill (Gates) are part of the problem rather than part of the solution.
It is also particularly important because of the efforts being made - and we don't necessarily mean by the police - to stifle protest and keep demonstrators on-message.
As one journalist recently noted, this means, "Don't mention the war. Suggestions that G8 policy, far from alleviating poverty, is a direct cause of it, are not welcome. That constitutes 'bad' protest. Shut up. Disappear. Stay at home." (G8: The war on dissent)

Protesters chain themselves to crane

Anti-poverty activists chained themselves to the top of a high-rise crane in Edinburgh today in a dramatic G8 protest.
Three campaigners from the World Development Movement climbed a 45 metre high crane above a train station and unfurled a banner.
The trio said the protest was to highlight the "hypocrisy" of British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Finance Minister Gordon Brown's stance towards the Third World.
Paul Hutchings was part of the protest.
Speaking from the top of the crane by mobile phone, the 37-year-old said they had hung a huge banner stating "no more Brownwash".
"We believe Gordon Brown, Tony Blair and the Labour government is hypocritical."
"They claim to support the aims of Make Poverty History, but the reality is that Brown and Blair are leading the charge toward further liberalisation and privatisation of markets in developing countries."
"Their plans for debt relief and aid are attached to stringent conditions and there is no mention of the urgent need for trade justice."
Hutchings said he and the other campaigners "got up early" and were able to gain access to the crane by simply climbing over a fence.
"We climbed up the stairs all the way up to the top of the crane, put a lock on the trapdoor behind us and have secured ourselves," he said.
"This a peaceful protest and we want to stay here as long as we can, enjoying the view and getting our message across."
Police said they were aware of the protest and were "monitoring" it.
The protest comes a day after police and anarchist protesters clashed violently in Edinburgh city centre.
