The CONAMURI women need all our support. They are fighting bravely against the consequences of soya production in our countries, mainly RR soya introduced illegally into Paraguay, as it was in Brazil.

Paraguay is a country that is internationally ignored. But Paraguayan peasants fight against the agro-export model that wants to condemn our countries in the Southern Cone of Latin America to produce soya to feed cattle in Europe and China is real and it needs our support.

RR soya killed Silvino Talavera and poisoned and is poisoning every day thousands of peasants in Paraguay. It is forcing the eviction and repression of those peasants that resist overtake of the seeds and food production by the agribusiness threatening their food sovereignty.

Please help to stop this renewed intent of genocide against the Paraguayan peasants and indigenous people.

COMMENCEMENT OF CAMPAIGN
"JUSTICE FOR SILVINO TALAVERA"
Re-commencement of the trial to investigate the death of the above child
SILVINO TALAVERA, aged 11 years, died in January 2003.

He passed away in the Regional Hospital in Encarnacion suffering from poisoning by agrochemicals (Monsanto's Roundup and cipermetrine). The trial will take place at the Palacio de Justicia in the town of Encarnacion, Department of Itapua, Paraguay on the 7th of June 2005.

The campaign hopes to:
Seek justice for SILVINO TALAVERA

Demand the acceptance of the law on Plaguicides, proposed by the following rural organizations: MCNOC, CONAMURI and the PLENARIA POPULAR PERMANENTE.

Send letters to the trial demanding JUSTICE for the child, SILVINO TALAVERA and approval of the law on Plaguicides (we will be releasing more information on this in the future).

Educate and involve national and international communities so that each person, organisation or institution can disseminate the information about what caused SILVINO TALAVERA's death, how Monsanto continues to produce the same seeds and toxic agrochemicals in all of our countries, the lack of an integral agrarian reform, the loss of our food sovereignty, the loss of our rights over our own lands, and the harm being caused to the health of our communities and to the environment. We hope to send out more information on the above issues in the future.

Continue our fight against the soya producers in Paraguay, and against Monsanto who supports the impunity of the crime committed against SILVINO TALAVERA, as well as many others.
