1. ICPPC (International Coalition to Protect the Polish Countryside) 10 Year Anniversary Programme
"FOOD SOVEREIGNTY AND THE FAMILY FARM". An International Seminar on the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of ICPPC.

Saturday 20th November 2010 - Monday 22nd November 2010

Poland has a unique countryside - with very rich wild nature, beautiful landscapes, cultural traditions and many generations of farmers who love their work. It's a national treasure. However decisions made in Brussels over the past decade have dramatically degraded the life and quality of the Polish countryside and its food. The protection of the natural wealth and diversity of the countryside and the food security of the nation is a vital issue for Poland, but so it is for all countries. In order to help realize the goal of protecting our countryside and food chain, we created in November 2000 the International Coalition to Protect the Polish Countryside (ICPPC). The coalition was initiated by 41 organizations from 18 countries.

Now we are inviting you to join us in celebrating this event and sharing your thoughts and ideas about the future of 'real food and farming' in your country as well.

You will find this a special occasion! A great chance to try delicious Polish countryside foods - traditional and organic. Participate in a lively session of POLISH TRADITIONAL SONGS AND DANCE and Ӭtake in a VISIT TO LOCAL FAMILY FARMS, as well as explore ECOCENTRE ICPPC.

Seminar languages English and  Polish.

Saturday 20th November 2010 - Monday 22nd November 2010

Location of the conference: Stryszow and Zakrzow are traditional villages in the Beskidy mountains in Malopolska province.

Malopolska is Poland's top tourist destination. Here you can see the great beauty of Polish nature and traditional farming. Krakow, the former capital of Poland, is just a hundred kilometres from the ridges of the Tatra Mountains and the picturesque Beskidy and Gorce Mountains. The historic and artistic centre of the voivordship is in Krakow - the city where kings resided, were crowned and buried. The Wawel Hill, topped with the royal castle and the cathedral is a national sanctuary, and the great works of art accumulated over centuries remain a testimony to the might of the country and its rulers.

THE CONFERENCE FEE: only 200 EURO
As we have to make preparations in advance please respect the deadline for applying: October 30th 2010. The price includes: costs of accommodation, organic and traditional meals, local travel costs (including transport FROM the Krakow airport Balice or main Krakow bus and train stations), lectures in  English, workshops, English speaking general guide. The price does NOT include international travel costs.
